Raleigh International is a British
youth development charity which runs expeditions all over the
world. The projects are divided into three categories: community
(working on building schools or clinics), environment (national
park-based projects), and adventure (trekking, canoeing, kayaking).
This is the third Raleigh expedition that I've reported on, and
from each I've come away impressed by both the enthusiasm of the
young volunteers and staff, and the organisation that keeps them
alive.
This time, I spent five days on a community building
site, and ten days trekking in the Gobi with a group of ten
young volunteers and two members of staff.
